Canyon Pizza

It’s 2 am on a Friday night at Penn State, everyone has been drinking, there’s some icy slush on the ground, I’ve now spotted eleven familiar faces from high school I was (for the most part) hoping to never see again, and where is everyone on campus? Waiting in line for Canyon Pizza. All of them shouting the famous “WE ARE! PENN STATE!” chants as if they all have to be constantly reminded of what school they attend. I’m not playing around here, EVERYONE on campus was there. I’ve never seen such a line for pizza. Some people couldn’t handle the pressure of the classy group of gentlemen above us on the balconies making fun of their “gay” hats, or their slutty girlfriends who were falling all over the place, and dropped out of line. Some people were smoking joints, some were peeing in the street, while others were arguing about if the Red Sox were actually any good this year. All in all, so far, it was a fantastic atmosphere.

So Mimi doesn't like the feet in the photo above but you tell me...

Need contributors so if you're eating pizza this weekend please email me: wolfpartyjoe AT gmail DOT com.

I had Fame's again today. Just the cheapest, no bullshit deal on campus and I was in a hurry. Plain pizza because it's a Friday during Lent.

Headed to Tacconelli's in Port Fishington tomorrow. My uncle swears by it and so do many others from what I gather. One has to call ahead and order their dough. We're getting three pies and we'll let you know if it's worth the trouble!

My Monday is Sucking

I am having a horrible day. Although my lunch of two slices from Fame's Pizza (the truck, not the lame kiosk across the street) tried its best, I still am drawing a blank on how to correctly calculate market equilibrium.

ey

I'm excited to be posting on here, cool! I love pizza! I feel like I appreciate it even more on a certain level since all the pizza I eat now is made either by me or, when I go home, by my mom (<3). Making pizza is really easy and so rewarding. I always feel proud when I take one of my creations out of the oven and then I'm able to share something I made with someone that I love.

tis the season

Will and I went to Season's Pizza last night. Its off 202 in DE. I wouldn't normally go to this place due to its location and its a chain. if im gonna get pizza, im not gettin it from a chain. does mac and mancos count as a chain?

Pizza N' Stuff

A few weeks ago my roommate Matthew, our friend Andrew, and his geeEf Vanessa decided to spend our Tuesday night, instead of studying books and notes, studying the anatomy of Pizza N’ Stuff. Usually we get it delivered to our dorm because we’re too lazy to make the trek across campus in the snow to our vehicles to drive there. We felt as though we should tough it out on this night and actually see what this place looks like, since none of us had ever physically been inside of the Shippensburg family run pizza joint. Of course, on this specific evening, after we had walked all the way across campus we got into my 11 year old Jeep, who decided she didn’t want to get pizza tonight, she’d rather have her AC Compressor explode all over the parking lot. After Andrew and Matt pushed my car back into a parking space, while Vanessa complained she was cold, and after dealing with the hard ass cop, Andrew offered to drive us to what was now looking like the best idea we’ve ever had. Pizza N’ Stuff.

Greetings from Central Pennsylvania! where it seems as though pizza is a little more difficult to come by. Maybe it's because i'm new in town and don't know the area, or maybe it's because S. Eastern PA is more centripetal towards pizza lovers and creators. Either way, there are several places in town i'm anxious to try, or have tried and can't wait to tell you about!

Pizza by Elizabeth

I had dinner last night at Pizza by Elizabeth with my friends Mimi, Miles and Kara. It's pretty much a Greenville, Delaware institution. I think it's been open over 15 years and recently relocated to a huge space on Route 52 next to Jansen's. That space is really nice! Great decor aside from the tacky Betty Boop statue that greets you (but I suppose she's in keeping with the "Elizabeth" theme.) And in keeping with all things Greenville, I find this place pretty pricey. My feeling is they elevate pizza on this "gourmet" pedestal, not unlike what the Melting Pot does with FUCKING FONDUE. This connection I've made kind of makes me uncomfortable! Although I do love gorgeous "artisinal"/traditional looking Neopolitan pies, like the kind you might find at Sovana Bistro or in, you know, Italy, Elizabeth's prices just seem kinda steep and the legitimacy of some of their pies (one's featuring barbeque sauce, bacon, cheddar cheese) hurts their cred.

It begins.

I can't tell if this kid is a big jerk or totally awesome. He claims to be "basically the only kid that knows how to make pizza." That's pretty lofty. I'm jealous, either way.

Welcome To Pizza Prospects.
